Farmer Movement: Once again farmers in the country have opened a front against the government. Its voice can be heard even in the British Parliament. On Thursday (22 February 2024), Sikh MP Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi raised his voice in the British Parliament regarding farmers. He says that the freedom of expression of farmers should be protected at all costs.

Tanmanjit Singh, while addressing the British Parliament, said, ‘Many people of my constituency are extremely worried about the safety of the protesting farmers moving towards New Delhi. He has informed me about his problem through a letter.

One protester died in a dispute with the police

He told, ‘A protestor has died in a dispute with the police. The deceased was shot on the head. Punjab Health Minister says on this issue that a boy has died due to bullet injury. Another person was also shot, but fortunately he was saved.

13 people were injured in the clash

Not only this, 13 people have been injured in the clash. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. Based on the BBC report, he said, ‘Today’s BBC report states that Twitter is being forced to delete the accounts of activists protesting against the government without its approval.’

Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi raised the issue of security

Taking his point forward, Tanmanjit Singh Dhesi said that everyone present here agrees with me that everyone’s freedom of expression and the safety of the protesters and their human rights should be protected at any cost.

Farmers of Punjab and Haryana in the country are on strike for MSP and their other demands. The most extreme form of protest is being seen in Haryana. The situation is such that the police have to fire tear gas shells to keep the farmers under control.

Seeing the increasing action of the police, farmers have also started gathering in large numbers. If media reports are to be believed, the police have also started detaining some farmer leaders. Angered by the arrest of their leaders, some farmers have pelted stones.
